History of the Boys Brigade
The Boys' Brigade (BB) was founded in Glasgow on 4th October 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. From this one Company formed inScotland the BB has grown in to a world wide movement having worked with millions of children and young people for well over a century.
Boys Brigade Nationally
Each week The BB works with thousands of young people, many of whom have no other connection with the Church. Today BB is working with over 60,000 children & young people in over 1500 companies (groups) in the UK & Republic of Ireland every week.
The BB provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. These resources have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way. The BB hopes that through these programmes they will be able to make a positive contribution to a young person's life and be able to share their faith.
Further information on BB Nationally can be found here, on the Boys Brigade National Website
Boys Brigade Locally
BB has been at Belle Vue Baptist Church for 46 years this year (2015). Currently we have a company consisting of over 100 youth.
Over the past 46 years the BB at Belle Vue has had in the region of 600 boys/young men pass through the company who have learnt about Jesus Christ. As a result boys and men within the Brigade have become Christians, some have become involved in church leadership and some have even become Ministers.

The Battalion organizes many events throughout the year where boys from the various companies are able to meet and participate in various competitions. Some of the events organized include parties, sports competitions, trips out, games console nights and quizzes.
At a higher level, i.e. National, Regional & District we participate in various activities and events such as the District football competition and National Quizzes.
