The
Boys' Brigade
The Boys' Brigade (BB) is an international Christian Youth
Organisation founded in 1883.
There is one BB organisation for the United Kingdom and Republic
of Ireland. Other countries have their own Boys' Brigades. See here

Boys' Brigade in S E Essex
The BB Companies in an area form a Battalion. We belong to the
South East Essex Battalion which includes Southend on Sea Borough,
Rochford District and Castle Point District with one Company in
Basildon. The Battalion sees that BB regulations are met in leader
appointments, provides training and organises events for Boys. See

Boys' Brigade Company
The local unit, usually part of a Church is called the "Company".
A typical Company caters for Boys from the age of five to eighteen
in three or four age groups. The 22nd has an AMICUS group which
girls can join with an upper age limit of 22 years old.
We have the following age groups
The BB uniform (optional for AMICUS) is a blue polo shirt with
the BB badge. A BB sweatshirt is also available.
BB Award Scheme
Anchor Boys, Juniors and Company Section Boys can earn badges in
their Award Schemes.
