Leaders' QualificationsEvery Brigade activity is planned and supervised by an "Officer", who has completed Brigade training which includes Child Protection and Safety. In addition to this training, to be enrolled as an Officer, a leader must be approved by both the local Brigade organisation and Belle Vue Baptist Church. Other leaders, termed "Helpers", are also approved by the Church which keeps a register of all those who regularly come into contact with children within its organisations. Everybody on the register has read and agreed to work to the standards required by the Church's "Safe to Grow" policies and guidelines. HolidaysThe Brigades require that holidays and overnight events are arranged and supervised by leaders who have completed training for these. Usually there will be several leaders holding a Holiday Leadership Qualification and, on tented camps, at least one holding a Campcraft Qualification. BullyingLeaders are aware of the need to prevent bullying and will take action if necessary. EqualityBrigade training includes Equality and leaders will endeavour to see that activities are organised so that no child or young person is excluded.
